Philippine memorial industry leader Eternal Gardens honored its top producers for 2016 during its Grand Annual Awards Night held last April 19, 2017, Wednesday, at the Ambassador Hall of the Manila Grand Opera Hotel in Sta. Cruz Manila.
Rep. Mario Vittorio Mariño of the 5th congressional district of Batangas, comprised of Batangas City, in his keynote speech hailed the increased presence of Eternal Gardens in the province. To date, the company has three modern memorial parks in Batangas, including two in Batangas City’s barangay Balagtas and Concepcion, and one in Lipa City.
He paid tribute to Eternal Gardens founder Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua’s strong entrepreneurial spirit, saying that it was not only profitability that drove the ALC Group founder to open up companies but also his passion to render service to countrymen through his companies.
He called on the officers and staff and sales force members of Eternal Gardens to preserve and keep alive the Ambassador’s legacy of commitment to excellence in products and service offered to Filipino families.
Aside from Batangas City, Eternal Gardens also has branches in Baesa, Caloocan City; and in the cities of Biñan and Santa Rosa in Laguna Province; Lipa, Dagupan, Cabanatuan, Naga and Cagayan de Oro City (Greenhills Park).
More than 60 sales associates and executives were honored for top sales production in various categories. They include Helen Abesa, top general agency manager; Nayda Cuenca, top regular unit manager who is also the Rookie of the Year for the same category; and Cynthia Leycano, top regular sales counselor.
Another Rookie of the Year awardee was Domnina Livra Franzuela for the regular sales counselor category. For the Garden League category, the awardees were Ma. Theresa Manlapig, top league manager; and Rachelle Anne Manlapig, top regular sales counselor.
In her acceptance speech, Abesa thanked the management of Eternal Gardens, her unit managers and sales counselors, and her fellow sales associates from the other branches who have all served as inspiration to her. She also paid tribute to Ambassador Cabangon Chua by saying, “nagtatagal ang Eternal Gardens because we follow the good example set by Amba.”
Cuenca, on the other hand, expressed confidence that Eternalites will continue to succeed because of the support of the management. “I am confident that we will succeed because we are given the tools and skills to do so. It is an honor and joy to be part of the Eternal Gardens family,” she said.
Laycano, who received her third consecutive Top RSC Award that night, said in her speech that she made the right choice with the company and her agency. “Success is not only about working hard. But it is also about making the right choice. I can say that with Eternal Gardens, I made the right choice. With GES Agency, I made the right choice,” she said.
Eternal Gardens chairman and chief executive officer D. Edgard A. Cabangon also gave a special message to Eternalites. “This event would not have been possible without you,” he said, acknowledging the agency managers and sales executives. He congratulated them for their achievements and thanked them for their unwavering support to the company. “As what my dad and our founder always used to say, without you Eternal Gardens will not be here, that’s why we are very grateful for all your help and support,” Cabangon said.
Aside from the awarding ceremony, there was also a Search for the Male and Female Stars of the Night, which were won by Mario Manalo of Batangas Branch and Gloria Sanchez of Lipa Branch, respectively. During their traditional dance, the couple was serenaded by one of the country’s top balladeers Hadji Alejandro, who also sang some of his classic hits to entertain the crowd.
Another highlight of the evening was the grand raffle draw or exciting cash prizes. The following day, qualified sales managers and agents flew to Hong Kong with the branch managers and executives as part of their incentives for a very productive year.
