As the maiden branch of Eternal Gardens, the park in Baesa was the first to feature the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. Towering over the branch’s entrance along the North Luzon Expressway, the statue was designed and created by National Artist Dean Napoleon Abueva himself.

In addition to the Transfiguration, which has become a popular local landmark in the area, Eternal Gardens-Baesa contains other significant religious works. One is the statue of the Brown Madonna—an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary depicted as a Filipina mother. In 1985, Eternal Gardens founder Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua presented a replica of the statue to Pope John Paul II. The version in Baesa was sculpted by Florante ‘Boy’ Caedo.
